From our coastal roots to coffee perfection

John and Lorna’s coffee journey began with the founding of their first coffee supply company in their hometown of Buckie on the Moray Firth Coast in 1989. Their mission has always been to provide high-quality, consistent coffee to local customers and businesses. Now with their own local roastery, they source high quality, ethically farmed green beans and use eco-friendly machinery and practices to roast flavourful coffees with sustainability in mind.

We are a family-run, independent roastery nestled right on Scotland's stunningly beautiful North East coast. Our passion for expertly crafted, delicious coffee drives us to share our artisanal brews far beyond our Moray Firth home.

Our process

We source our green beans only from accredited, ethical farmers & suppliers who share our vision for sustainability. Our Firecrest roaster uses only 100% renewable electric energy (no gas). Its low energy consumption rate along with our highly efficient filtration system ensures a very clean roast. John roasts the coffee himself, continually testing and tasting the roasts for consistency while also regularly exploring different beans and methods in the quest for perfection.

Our Tips & Advice

It’s our wish for you taste our coffees as they were meant to be enjoyed. To that end, we offer a variety of beans at different grinds from whole bean to espresso and filter. Choose your correct grind and try an AeroPress brewer or Clever Drip from Firecrest’s Brew Kit to make the most of your coffee.
