Vermelha Mantiqueira

This particular Brazilian coffee is worthy of special mention, being hand picked and with an exceptional flavour & 84.75 SCA Score.

Harvesting takes place from June to September at altitudes of between 900 and 1500masl in the Mantiqueira de Minas area where 89% of the growers are family smallholders.

This area was the first to get a geographical indication in the Brazilian coffee industry, supported and developed by the BSCA. This fresh approach, akin to “terroir” in the wine industry is redefining how people view speciality coffee from Brazil.

After picking by hand the coffee cherries are natural pulped, then at the warehouse in Sao Lourenco the coffee beans are rested and dried in large wood-lined silos. Next the coffee is rigorously cupped, graded and laser sorted under the guidance of Wellington Pereira before the green beans are bagged for export.

100% Arabica – Red Acaia varietal. (Acaia is a mutation of Mundo Novo that has been grown as an individual cultivar since 1977).

Tasting Notes- Chocolate, Lemon Apple and Hazelnut

Grind Style: Whole Bean
Size: 250g
