Sidamo G2 – Daye Bensa

Ethiopian coffees are undoubtedly quite distinct in the world of coffee, with their soft citric & tea-like flavours yet satisfyingly high body character.

Our Daye Bensa roast with an SCA cup score of 84 is an exceptional Ethiopian roast and is sure to get your tastebuds excited, especially as a black coffee. With our state of the art roasting and filtration processes, the resulting coffee is brimming with flavour and refreshingly clean on the palate.

These 100% Arabica beans of the Heirloom varietal are grown  at altitudes of 1600-2100 masl by small family “out-growers”  in 3 villages around a shared washing station beside Shantawene Village.

On arrival at the washing station the cherries are first washed and the beans are then removed from the cherries by de-pulping. The beans are then passed through a fermentation phase for 12-36 hours before being spread out on raised beds in the sun to dry.
