At Firecrest we are so proud to be offering you this wonderfully flavoursome coffee which is grown and produced by a small group of 20 dedicated women farmers.
The region of Zongolica is deeply influenced by the rich ancestral heritage of its people, most of whom identify as part of the Nahuas indigenous group. Across generations the Nahuas have shared their language and wisdom about plants, animals, rivers, mountains, our planet and the universe through storytelling by their elders.
The coffee farms are all agro-ecosystems, meaning the farmers take into account the impact of their farming well beyond the actual farms. Each smallholder uses natural conservation methods to protect the region’s biodiversity.
Our coffee is grown at altitudes of 1250 – 1700 masl and harvested from January to March and processed using traditional washed and sun dried methods.
100% Arabica - Caturra, Catuai, Sarchimor and Marsellesa varietals.
Tasting Notes:- Chocolate, Caramel and Tropical/Citrus.
